The Creative Child Magazine Awards Program stands out for its unique approach to product evaluation. Rather than having a single reviewer assess the submitted products, the program enlists a diverse group of parents and educators to provide feedback. This ensures that each product is reviewed from multiple perspectives, specifically by the very people who would ultimately purchase or use these toys and products.
This collective review process gives a more comprehensive and realistic evaluation, helping parents make informed decisions about which products to bring into their homes. It's an approach that values input from those who truly understand what makes a product both educational and enjoyable for children.
Monthly Reviews are held in Henderson, NV where over 60 reviewers consisting of parents and educators are invited to a local conference center to participate in our product review. All products are divided into categories and displayed at various stations. Guest reviewers are asked to sit and review each product at every station. This allows for each product to receive multiple reviews.
An online review form is provided to each guest reviewer, to aid them in evaluating each product. The online review forms are to include comments and a score value based on criteria that corresponds to the product's category. Upon completion of the event, all scores are tabulated and comments are reviewed.
Based on the scores and comments, some products are then chosen to be given a top award such as the Toy of the Year, Game of the Year, Product of the Year, Creative Play of the Year, Book of the Year, Puzzle of the Year and Top Travel Product of the Year.
In addition to our top awards we also have the prestigious Preferred Choice and the Seal of Excellence which are awarded based on a products ability to exceed expectations in design, quality and how they promote education and creativity. The Creative Child Awards seals are a distinguishing mark of achievement and desirability.
Note - The Creative Child Magazine Awards Program is not a testing program that examines each product on how it adheres to safety for parents and children. All reviews are strictly based on the opinions of parents, not safety professionals. We recommend that if you have a concern regarding any of the products featured on our website or published in Creative Child Magazine please contact the Consumer Products Safety Commission.
